If we’re talking about sports gambling, tie always goes to the runner. There is no doubt and there is no discussion. If we’d like to even the odds of an event, to make things a bit more interesting for the gambler, both dominant and underdog, we’d add in the betting line. The betting are points which are added or subtracted to the teams final score to make the bet more enticing.

If a team has +10, you’ve got to wonder, “That team is bad; and they’re going to lose. But do you think they’ll lost by more than 10?” And, dear friend, if you had bet that way and the team had only lost by 9, then you would be right and you would have won the bet!

Betting lines make sports a heck of a lot more interesting as you can determine how much you like or hate a team based on the betting lines given the team by the odds makers and you can decide what you want to do.

NFL betting lines probably exist in denominations of 7 or 10 as games are usually won or lost by a touchdown or a field goal (or both) If you still believe in the power of the human mind and the beauty of the human heart than all you need to do is believe that the team you want to lose will do so with great pain and outside of the betting line which you’ve determined.

NCAA betting lines will probably be much smaller than the incrinements of 7 that the NFL does its games. The NCAA, while still a good program, has a bit of a problem in that many of their teams are either David or Goliath and the fact that some of these teams are so dominating and some are so weak tells me that the spread between two good teams would be small and the spread between a good team and a bad team would be tough.

For baseball, you’ve got a lot of the same problem as in NCAA; maybe even more so. Teams in baseball tend not to score a lot of runs; I feel we’re in a pitching renaissance currently and we’re swallowed up around all these hitters who are not very good and they’re all swinging at bad pitches.

Online betting lines will keep going as long as sports betting remains legal. People love to show support to their team and bookies and odds makers love pumping garbage like betting lines out for us to gawk at, consider, reject, reconsider, and embrace one day.
